Highland Avenue restaurant serves seasonally influenced fare Monday through Saturday beginning at 5 pm. Located in one of two well-preserved hosiery mills remaining in Hickory, the space pays homage to the town’s manufacturing history during the first half of the twentieth century. The first restaurant to open in the former Hollar Hosiery Mill, Highland Avenue is revitalizing Hickory’s Southeast district a meal at a time.
Large, steel sash factory windows and high-ceilings with steel trusses keep the industrial spirit alive at Highland Avenue. The restaurant seats over 100 guests with a private dining room for 28 designed for intimate gatherings, business meetings and special occasions. Chef Kyle McKnight’s nightly menus wonderfully showcase the region’s bounty. Focusing on local ingredients, McKnight’s menu is a tribute to the best of the Carolinas.
